Christmas Concert!

Today Brendan and his brother performed in their first ever, holiday concert at the Middle school!

Happy 10th McKinsey!

Today we celebrated McKinsey's 10th Birthday! 

Our first stop was the movies, "Big Hero 6."

McKinsey loved the show, and wanted to stop and hug Bayomax on the way out.

Our next stop was Westwood BBQ, where McKinsey enjoyed a Tritip steak and a piece of birthday cake. 

Happy Halloween!

This Halloween McKinsey wanted to go with the renaissance look (Robin Hood's sweet heart). Brendan wanted to be a "Smarty Pants," thus the reason for the smarties all over his pants.

Brendan makes the papers!

One of our local school board members asked if she could use a photo of Brendan and Roman for her upcoming campaign to rerun for School Board Trustee in our local district. 

Brendan begins the Trumpet!

Today Brendan made a trip to the music store to pick out his very own trumpet!

We had our first private lesson today consisting of learning the basic scale notes and finger positions.

Brendan is very excited! Both he and his brother Roman chose to learn the trumpet together and will be playing in the middle school band this year.

Weekend at the Cabin!

This weekend Brendan wanted to spend at the family cabin near the lake as sort of a late family birthday party.

After we arrived, everyone hurried to "claim their territory". Brendan however, decided he wanted to stay outside in the tent with his brother Roman.

During the day, Brendan helped plan several games and picked all his favorite foods leading up to a little party before we departed.

Time to go. Brendan tossed on his new headphones to relax for the ride home in the back of Dads truck.

Woke up early this morning and went out to breakfast at IHOP, after which he was able to go birthday shopping and pick up supplies for a weekend at the Cabin full of games, parties, s'mores, and fun! 

Welcome Back!

Excited that McKinsey had returned home to California, her friend stopped by to welcome her home and present her with a gift. A BFF necklace!

One Swift Girl!

McKinsey's track team qualified and competed in the "All Valley Track Championships" today in Fresno, California. To get here they had to win in 3 previous county qualifying meets. They were the 8th fastest qualifying team of 16 to make it to the championship, but they finished 3rd overall today! Congrats to McKinsey whose team is the 3rd fastest 4X100 relay squad in the entire Central Valley of Califoria! 

Fresno County Regional Qualifier

Brendan qualified to run in the County track meet for the 200 Meter dash finishing fourth overall today. This is especially impressive since he is amongst the youngest of his age category this year.

McKinsey qualified in the 100 Meter dash finishing 5th over all and also in the 4X100 relay where her team finished on first place!

Armed with PVC shooters and marshmallow ammo, they were a fearsome bunch!

Honors Award

Brendan received a plaque for his outstanding academic performance throughout the year! He was an honors student all year and was even invited to participate in the GATE (gifted and talented education) program after a perfect score in math on his benchmarks. Proud of him!

Football Camp!

Brendan and Roman attended the Pirate football camp this year where big brother Caleb was one of the high school football player volunteer coaches! Very excited for the new football season!

McKinsey visits the State Capital!

A True Hero!

Brendan decided to go outside with his little brother Connor when no one else would, just to play the villain for Connor as he practiced his superhero skills. The act of a true hero, to serve others when no one else will. What a good kid!
